Visiting Nurse Association to hold evening COVID-19 vaccine drive-thru clinic Aug. 31

August 26, 2021 | VNA Staff | General, Press Releases

What: Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) will hold its second COVID-19 vaccine drive-thru clinic of the year. In order to be accessible to more people, the clinic will be held after school and work hours. Those who traditionally have work or childcare commitments during the day can swing by on their way home.

Those who attended VNA’s first vaccine drive-thru clinic and received the Pfizer shot are encouraged to return to complete their second dose. Immunocompromised individuals wanting to get a booster shot can also attend the VNA clinic and receive their third dose. Starting in September, VNA will also be hosting drive-thru flu shot clinics for the second year at its headquarters.

When: Aug. 31, 2021 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Where: VNA Headquarters, 12565 West Center Road.

How to participate: Individuals 12 and older (those under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian) can drive through VNA’s parking lot and receive their vaccine from the comfort of their car.

Hiland Dairy ice cream treats will be served during the 15-minute waiting period. Participants will also receive a gift bag and can enter to win either a one-night stay in a Cottonwood Hotel suite with valet parking (valued at $350) or a 72” strand of freshwater pearls (valued at $75) from Borsheims. Boomer Radio will also provide musical entertainment for those in attendance.

About the available COVID-19 vaccines: Participants will have a choice between the two-dose, FDA-approved Pfizer vaccine, the two-dose Moderna vaccine, or the one-dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine. VNA and the Douglas County Health Department were able to vaccinate 57 individuals at their earlier August drive-thru clinic and look forward to another great turnout as our community works to combat COVID-19 and its delta variant.
