Message from VNA’s Board of Directors and Leadership Team

June 5, 2020 | VNA Staff | General

Recent events highlight a painful systemic inequality in our nation and our community. Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) is committed to being part of the solution, fostering an environment that is healing, caring, dynamic, and adaptable. That commitment began 124 years ago, and will continue to grow as we listen to those in need.

The core values of VNA are compassion, attitude, respect, and excellence. Our reflection of these values enacts positive change in the Omaha and Council Bluffs communities and helps lessen the burden of inequality experienced by so many.

Every day, VNA staff members enter patients’ homes to provide healthcare, hospice, supportive services, and advocacy. Through this work, we address many consequences of inequality that negatively impact health. Our response has been, and will continue to be, an unwavering commitment to the health and safety of patients who might otherwise be ignored; providing quality services to all who need it, regardless of complexity of care or ability to pay.

We stand alongside the community we love and serve, and we accept responsibility for equality in our words and our actions.
